Great Wall Motor Philippines Supports the Level Up Summer Youth Camp 2010

Great Wall Motor Philippines, through Statemotor Corp., showed tremendous support for Camp Kabataan’s 2010 Summer Youth Camp entitled Level Up through its provisioin of two service vehicles one of which is their 4×4, cross-over utility vehicle (CUV) known as the Hover, tagged as “the SUV wonder from China“.

Great Wall Motor Philippines‘ and Camp Kabataan’s partnership began with the former’s General Manager, Jed Chan and the latter’s 2010 Camp Director, Jeffrey Aspacio sharing the same passion for blogging, cars and the betterment of the environment and the society.

Camp Kabataan offers sound and relevant teachings to high school and college students, and out-of-school youth using one-on-one counseling, Small Group Interaction (SGI) and, Large Group Sessions (LGS). They tackle topics like peer pressure, self-esteem, sexual purity and other issues being faced by the youth of this generation. Their organization is composed of people from different walks of life who operate on a voluntary basis and this is in cooperation with Breaking Point Foundation Phil., Inc., a locally based NGO that addresses the problem of drug abuse among young people.

This year, Camp Kabataan has found a partner in Great Wall Motor Philippines as the popular Chinese brand whose pick-up trucks and SUVs topped the total sales in China for the past 11 years and 6 years, respectively, who not only focuses on the quality of their cars with their use of European technology and Bosch components (German technology) but on making the environment greener as well by introducing vehicles that are EURO 4 (gasoline engines) and EURO 3 (diesel engines) compliant to the Philippines.

Canon Philippines sponsors two of its latest digital camcorders for use in the video documentation of the “Level Up” Summer Youth Camp 2010. The two flash memory camcorders are the Canon VIXIA FS200 and the Canon VIXIA FS21.

All ministry leaders (pastors, youth directors), youth counselors and volunteers are encouraged to attend this orientation. Level Up: Camp Kabataan’s 2010 Summer Youth Camp Theme

This year’s theme for the 2010 summer youth camp of Camp Kabataan is “Level Up”. It was conceived out of the brainstorming of different leaders of the organizations who are part of Camp Kabataan and is based on the familiar name of online games provider Level Up.

The familiar name does not use the same logo as the online games provider but only uses the name to catch the attention of young people and help them relate to it and redirect their attention to the message that Camp Kabataan wants to emphasize and that is excellence in all aspects of the young person’s life (physical, mental, relational, spiritual).

The Level Up theme also has a Bible passage that supports the message it carries and that is Titus 3:8 which says,“…Those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.”

The 2010 summer youth camp is set on April 6-9, 2010, at Mt. Peniel Camp Site located in Capas, Tarlac. The camp fee is P450 inclusive of transportation to a from the camp site, meals and accommodations from Tuesday afternoon to Friday morning, and camp training materials that will be used for the “Level Up” sessions.

Camp Kabataan’s First Synergy Event in 2009

Last December 21, 2009, Camp Kabataan held a youth leaders’ event participated by leaders/volunters from Sumulong Baptist Church, Sumulong Baptist Church - Makati, Sumulong Baptist Church El Dodaro, Sumulong Baptist Church Inernational Ministries, Faith Temple Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church and Peñafrancia Bible Baptist Church.

In Camp Kabataan’s event, the organization invited speakers to talk on topics on leadership and used the acronym LEADERS for the topics - Learner, Example, Assist, Discipline, Enabler, Responsible, Synergy.
